“Natalia is a lot like me in that she’s very much a fighter. She has felt completely alone in the world, yet through all of the pain and loss, she’s overcome so much and has gone after her dreams. This story of her and her father is very personal because it’s my story, and I think that sharing it with my readers gives them insight into who exactly I am. I’ve been broken, like so many of us, but being broken shouldn’t ever stop anyone from conquering their fears.”

The Mighty Storm by Samantha Towle ~NEW REVIEW~

The Mighty Storm

I have been told hundreds of times by different people that I need to read The Mighty Storm by Samantha Towle.  Finally, I had some time in my reading schedule so I decided it was time to tackle this read.  OhhhEmmmGeee why did I not read this novel sooner!  What an ABSOLUTELY AMAZING read!!!  The Mighty Storm ranks up in my Top Ten All Time Favorite reads and Jake Wethers is giving a couple of top spot book boyfriends a run for their money!

Many people have suggested that The Mighty Storm was similar to Thoughtless and Effortless by S.C. Stephens and, in some ways it was.  For me, The Mighty Storm was so much more then the S.C. Stephens series.

Trudy (Tru) is a very strong character who knows what she wants.  She isn’t meek and mild…she tells it like it is!  Jake is all man!!! He’s a mushy romantic inside a big alpha male, YUM!  These two characters together have AMAZING chemistry!  The sexual tension between them is HOT!  I loved both characters and wanted to see them end up together!  My fingers are crossed!

The Mighty Storm sucked me in right away and I couldn’t get enough. Samantha Towle is a brilliant author, she tells an addicting tale of how fate can intervene when you least expect it, but will fate be enough to keep them together??  If you haven’t had a chance to read The Mighty Storm yet, I suggest you move it up your TBR as there is something for everyone in this exciting novel.  I fell in love, had my fare share of heart ache and at the end of it all I wanted more of these two fabulous characters!!  I can’t wait for Wethering The Storm.  Don’t wait for the sequel, ask anyone who has read this novel and they will tell you, The Mighty Storm should be your next read 🙂  N. 5/5

Book Excerpt:

Jack McLachlan’s POV

I sit in the dark corner and scan the room like a starved predator searching for prey. I haven’t chosen her yet, but the woman who will share my bed for the next few months is in this room right now.

I watch a lovely blond approach my table. “What can I bring you?” Hmm. A waitress—not at all my usual taste.page3image14840 page3image15000 page3image15160 page3image15320 page3image15480 page3image15640 page3image15800     I have a type. Attractive. Mature. Refined. This barmaid meets the attractive requirement well enough, but she’s void of refinement or maturity as displayed by her choice of apparel—a white, barely there tank top and frazzled cutoff denim shorts. She doesn’t do it for me. Plus, my last two companions were blond. I want a different flavor this time, but no redheads. I want a brunette. A beautiful one.

I remind myself I’m not in Sydney where I have an endless variety of sophisticated women from which to choose. My choices are more limited in the small town of Wagga Wagga, but that doesn’t mean I have to settle for the first attractive woman I see.

“I’ll have a Shiraz.”

I’m prepared for a more prolonged relationship this time—three whole months instead of the usual three or four weeks. I’m looking forward to keeping this one around a little longer, and that’s all the more reason to be certain I make a wise choice.

I begin my search of the club with the first table toward the front of the room. A brunette beauty sits with a group of women. I watch her for a while, but decide she’s too friendly with the woman sitting next to her. Lesbians aren’t in my repertoire.

I spend the next hour scanning the club and come up empty-handed. I’m discouraged. No one stands out as the one and this club is by far my best bet for meeting single women in this town. Maybe I should consider coming back another time when it’s not open mic night. Tonight, the place is crawling with boozed college students.

Tonight’s search has been a failure, but at least the karaoke was entertaining.

I’m finishing off the last of my wine before I leave when an announcer from the club takes the stage and asks for the next singer to step forward. A small group of people across the room

nominates one of its own. My view of the poor bastard is blocked by the crowd of intoxicated kids standing between us, but I’m certain this is going to be another delightful train wreck.

The club erupts into cheer and chants. “Do. It. Do. It. Do. It.” A young woman walks onto the stage and stands with her back to the crowd as she lifts a guitar from its stand. She lifts its strap over her head and then tosses her long brown hair over one shoulder. When she’s finished settling the guitar into place, she circles around and sits on the stool in the middle of the stage.

She’s beautiful. And somehow overlooked during my search.

She’s wearing a short ivory dress and a denim jacket with brown cowgirl boots. She bares her thighs as she lifts her feet to rest on the bottom rail, but she’s careful to push her dress between her legs so she doesn’t provide a peep show to the crowd.

She strums the borrowed guitar a few times and then leans into the microphone. “Is everyone having a good time tonight?”

She’s American. I think. Her accent sounds different—not like what I’ve heard in the past.

The crowd erupts into a drunken cheer and I hear a man’s voice yell over the crowd, “It’s better now, sweet thing!”

She smiles and adjusts the mic. “I’m not from around here. It’s my first night in Australia.”

“Leave with me and I’ll make you feel right at home!” a man shouts from the back of the room.

She ignores the fat, ugly bastard yelling at her. “I don’t know what kind of music Australians like, but this has been one of my favorites for as long as I can remember.” She strums a few more chords. “This is ‘Crash Into Me’ by the Dave Matthews Band.”

She sings it slower than the original, putting her own twist on it. Her voice is raspy and sexy, her eyes closed. She oozes eroticism. She tilts her head and opens her eyes when she begins to

sing the chorus. I swear it feels like she’s looking right in my direction, singing to me. “Oh, and you come craasshh … into me. And I come into … you … And I come into you … in a boy’s dream … in a boy’s dream.”

The stage lights shine in her face and common sense tells me she can’t see me sitting in the dark corner at the back of the club, but that doesn’t stop me from hoping.

She finishes the chorus and shuts her eyes again. Her long legs bounce against the rail of the stool to keep rhythm and I fall victim to her siren’s song. She has bewitched me. And I want her. She’s the one.

Nets and Lies by Katie Ashely ~ COMING SOON~

Nets and Lies

Check out this New Adult novel written by Katie Ashley as Krista Ashe.  This is what Katie Ashley posted today on Facebook about Nets and Lies:

NEW ADULT BOOK ALERT, lol: Three years ago, I wrote a book called Nets and Lies. It was inspired after a rape scandal broke out at the middle school where I had previously taught. The accused man was a basketball coach I was close to both through coaching cheerleading and working in the after-school program–I still believe in this man’s innocence. Although based on real events, the story took on a life of it’s own, and it will be debuting next week.

~THE SUBMISSION of ALISTAIR INGRAM by Kelli Maine~ Cover Reveal and Synopsis

Alistair Ingram is about to heat up our e-readers and our panties… Check out the cover for his book. He is the first in the novella series, Dolls and Doms by erotic author KELLI MAINE.  We also have a very special interview from the man himself. Check it out.
Title: The Submission of Alistair Ingram
Genre: Erotic Romance
Release Date: Feb. 12, 2013
Alistair cover finalBlurb:
Movie star Alistair Ingram strolled into Dolls & Doms private men’s club in Las Vegas for his bachelor party and limped out with a torn shirt, red welts covering his chest and a broken engagement splashed all over the pages of every celebrity magazine in the country.

A session with club Dominatrix, Black Betty, will do that to a man.

With Alistair’s manager breathing down his neck and Black Betty’s abusive ex-husband alerted to where she’s been hiding for the past ten years, there’s only one thing to do:

And get the hell out of Las Vegas.

But the real ruse is on Alistair and Black Betty, because despite both of their best efforts, they’ve gotten under each other’s skin. Can their explicit dance of domination and submission end in anything other than disaster?

Interview:  You know what they say. What happens in Vegas stays in Vegas. That wasn’t the case for Hollywood hotshot, Alistair Ingram. Antics from his bachelor party at private men’s club, Dolls & Doms, ended up splashed all over celebrity news magazines the next morning.

Alistair had allegedly cheated on is fiancé, starlet Heather Winston, with Dolls & Doms’ Dominatrix, Black Betty. But, his camp tells a different story, one where Black Betty was employed by Ingram to train him for his audition for the lead role in the upcoming Hues of Black and Blue, a movie predicted to be a blockbuster hit based on the world-wide bestselling book series of the same name.

I sat down with Ingram to get to the truth. What I discovered was a man who  makes no apologies and holds no regrets. Here are the highlights:

Alistair, it’s been said that your relationship with Heather Winston was set up and encouraged by the producers of Into Abyss, the movie the two of you star in together set to release next Christmas. Was your relationship only a promotional tool, or was it real?

Anytime co-stars are in a relationship it’s used as a promotional tool. Heather is a wonderful person. I care for her a lot. The privacy of our relationship is something I still honor, and that’s all I have to say about it.

And Black Betty? Define your relationship with her.

She works for me. I hired her to train me for a role I’m auditioning for, Hues of Black and Blue.

And what happened between the two of you that night in Las Vegas? The night of your bachelor party when you returned to your hotel in a torn shirt with welts on your chest.

Black Betty and I set that up. We thought it would be funny to trick my friends.

And Heather? Was she fooled?

*Alistair chuckles* She failed to find the humor in our prank. I’m sure you’ve seen the footage of her throwing a glass bowl at my head in the hotel lobby.

Black Betty is staying with you at your home in Hollywood?

She is. With my busy schedule, it was easier to train if she was at hand whenever I had a free moment.

How long will she be staying with you?

As long as it takes.

And what is the training like?  Do the two of you have an intimate relationship?

The training’s coming along rather slowly. With this type of thing, you have to establish trust even when role playing situations from a screenplay.

That sounds like a relationship that goes beyond strictly professional.

Is there a question in there somewhere?

Do you regret that night in Vegas?

No. Not for a second.

In the end, Alistair gave little away about his relationships with Heather Winston or Black Betty. With reporters camped out on his doorstep, we’re sure there is much more information to come about this bad boy and his Dominatrix in residence.

Be sure to head on over to Kelli’s blog page and enter her giveaway!!!!

Excerpt from Chapter Six

When I arrive at Cora’s house at five minutes past three, I only have to knock once before the lock turns and the door creaks open. Adam is standing before me wearing a soft smile and I know he’s probably been here all day.

“Come on in,” he says, holding the door wide open for me.

I walk inside and Cora is sitting in her recliner in front of the television with Bigfoot in her lap. The apartment is clean and the usual sharp litter box smell is gone. Cora looks up and smiles so big I can see the gap where she’s missing her two back molars.

“Hello, honey. Have you met Adam Parker? He’s your new neighbor,” she says in a voice that makes me feel a little like a preschooler being introduced to a classmate. “I think you two should get to know each other.”

She obviously doesn’t know about our date yet.

Adam takes a seat on the sofa, on the side closest to the recliner, and pats the cushion next to him. “Yeah, come sit down, Claire. Let’s get to know each other.”

I take a seat on the sofa, making sure to put at least a foot of space between Adam and I, then I turn to Cora. “What did you do today? Where’s Tina?”

“Adam’s been taking care of me today. He gave her the day off,” she says, and her eyes crinkle with delight.

I narrow my eyes at him and he grabs Cora’s hand as he turns back to her. “It was my pleasure. I didn’t have anything to do today since the only other person I know in this town was working.”

“You work too much, Claire,” Cora chimes in, as she continues to stroke Bigfoot with her free hand.

Geez. It’s like these two have spent the past six hours rehearsing a routine to get Adam and me together. First he switches my schedule without my knowledge and now he’s using Cora to get on my good side. He is a master conspirator.

I stand up and do a quick check around the kitchen just to satisfy my curiosity. As expected, he did everything I asked. He even stocked her cupboard with plenty of hot cereal packets and her refrigerator with lots of fresh fruit.

“Well, it looks like you’re all taken care of so I’m gonna head home,” I say, as I plant a kiss on Cora’s forehead and rub Bigfoot’s head. “I need to shower and get to bed early. I have the early shift tomorrow.”

“Walk her home, Adam,” she says sweetly and he immediately pops up off the sofa.

“See you later, Cora. We’ll have to watch that movie another time.”

“See you later, sonny,” she says, and I know what’s coming next. “But just because I call you sonny, doesn’t mean you’re bright.”

He laughs and points at her. “I can’t keep up with you, C.”

Adam follows me out of the apartment and uses his own key, which Cora must have given him, to lock her deadbolt.

I take a few steps and turn when I reach my door. “C? Did you spend the whole day with her?”

“I ran a few errands for her, but other than that, yes, I spent the day with Cora. She’s funny and we were about to watch a movie before you interrupted us.”

“Oh, well, don’t let me interrupt your date with Cora. Please go right back in.”

He steps forward and my back hits my front door as I take a step back. He leans against my door with his hands on either side of my head, effectively caging me in.

“Are you jealous of my relationship with Cora?”

His breath is hot against my nose and warmth rushes through me, lighting up my core.

“I just don’t want her to get so used to having you around. She’s had a lot of people bail on her and I….” His face is getting closer with every word I speak. “I don’t want her to get hurt.”

“Are you sure we’re talking about Cora?” he whispers against my lips, lingering for a moment before he pushes away from the door. “I work all week, but I’ll be by your house at nine a.m. on Saturday. Wear a bathing suit under your clothes.”

I let out a deep sigh and scramble into my apartment, slamming the door behind me. I take a few calming breaths then try to ignore the ache pulsating between my legs as I make my way to my bedroom to medit
