My rating: 5 of 5 stars
Well just to sum it up I feel I need to share the fact that I still have emotional tears whilst I am writing this review. I just have to put it out there.. I LOVE COLLEEN HOOVERS BOOKS!!!
I know sometimes when I have followed authors some of there books are amazing some are okay and some are good.. But I have to say when it comes to CH she just delivers for me every single time.
This book made me laugh, it made me sigh, it made me swoon and it made me cry.. It made my heart break in to pieces and then sore like a bird. I just don’t think you can ask for much more in a book than what you get in Maybe Someday I literally went through every emotion and felt them all so fully.
When you meet the characters in this book there is a good chance that you will never forget them. Just Like Dean and Hope from the Hopeless series I truly believe that Ridge and Sydney’s story will stay with you.
When you meet Sydney and quickly discover that she has had her heart broken by the people she should be able to trust most in the world you just pray that her life will get better. She was not a walk over and her throbbing fist from the outset proves that.. I love a strong leading female rolls and although Sydney is not your typical leading lady in the strength she shows i believe she has an inner strength that you can’t help but admire.
When you meet Ridge he just totally blows you away from across the courtyard. I can honestly say that I fell for his character almost immediately and then when you find out his full story you instantly panic for both him and sydney because you know they are both really good honest people so even though part of you desperately will want this to go one way your conscious just can’t let you agree.
I can’t write this review without mentioning the importance of the soundtrack that goes along with it. One of the most important aspects of this book is the music as really that is what it is all about and i think we can connect with in our lives. We do all have a song we hear that will take us back to a memory whether it be good or bad misc transports us there. WHen you listen the soundtrack whilst reading the lyrics in the book it moves you so much more than it would or could by simply reading them. I know without a doubt that every time the soundtrack for Maybe Someday plays on my iPod I will probably smile.. laugh or cry because they are just so beautifully intwined with the story of Sydney and Ridge. I will also say this … I don’t think I will ever listen to music the same way again and in all honesty I thank CH for that I really do.
Finally on the character front I just have to mention Warren because he just absolutely made this story that much better by being in it and I don’t thin it would be the same without him. He is the practical joker and wind up merchant of the book but when you get to know him you want a Warren in your life too.
I loved this story so much that I desperately DESPERATELY didn’t want it to end.. and i even found myself reading the last two chapters again just so i could stay with them. I truly hope that we get a little novella or maybe Warrens story with the characters from Maybe Someday’s story running in the back ground.. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE COLLEEN!!!!
Naomi – This is without a doubt another 5/5 beautifully heart beating stars from Colleen Hoover.
