Beautiful Mistake

A sexy new standalone from #1 New York Times bestselling author, Vi Keeland

The first time I met Caine West was in a bar.
He noticed me looking his way and mistakenly read my scowling as checking him out.
When he attempted to talk to me, I set him straight—telling him what I thought of his lying, cheating, egomaniacal ass.
You see, the gorgeous jerk had wined and dined my best friend–smooth talking her into his bed, all along failing to mention that he was married.
He deserved every bit of my tongue-lashing and more for what he’d done.
Especially when that lazy smile graced his perfect face in response to my rant.
Only it turned out, the man I’d just told off wasn’t the right guy.
Oops. My mistake.
Embarrassed, I slunk out without an apology.
I was never going to see the handsome stranger again anyway, right?
That’s what I thought…until I walked into class the next morning.
Well, hello Professor West, I’m your new teaching assistant.
I’ll be working under you…figuratively speaking.
Although the literal interpretation might not be such a bad thing—working under Professor West.
This was going to be interesting…

Train Wreck

“No passion, no emotion, no originality—a train wreck of epic portions.”

Those were the words to describe Eve Thorton’s exhibition. Not even a fine arts degree from Yale or her daddy’s bank account could save her from the scathing reviews. And failure was a word Eve would never be comfortable with. Not even close.

Plotting the demise of every critic who’d written her off was her first instinct. But that would come later. Instead, she would show them that she wasn’t a bored socialite with more money than talent.

She would prove everyone wrong, and she wasn’t afraid to get her hands dirty. But when her journey for redemption crashed headfirst into Josh Logan, the sexy, talented tattooist from Queens, getting her hands dirty took on a whole new meaning.

Josh was everything Eve wasn’t, translating on skin what she couldn’t onto her canvas. All she had to do was convince him to share his jaw-dropping brilliance, and help her—seeing him naked—a bonus. Then she could go back to her regular life, vindicated.

It should have been easy. Pity her plans had a habit of derailing.

Fed up with the lies, Merit decides to shatter the happy family illusion that she’s never been a part of before leaving them behind for good. When her escape plan fails, Merit is forced to deal with the staggering consequences of telling the truth and losing the one boy she loves.

What I’m Currently Reading… Before I Go by Catherine Cookson

One of my most favourite Authors ever is, Catherine Cookson. I grew up reading her incredible stories thanks to my mum’s love of her books.

If you’re interested in taking a look at Ms. Cookson’s books, I will post a few links to some of her most popular books. I promise… they are incredible reads!

Before I Go

Known for the wit of her writing, Catherine Cookson was the UK’s most widely read novelist during her lifetime. When her Estate discovered this never-before-published memoir in the attic of her home, it was an astonishing find. Before I Go is the definitive story of her life, in the author’s own candid words.

While Cookson had authored previous autobiographies, none have truly touched upon the tragedy and personal anguish she experienced until now. For the first time, she reveals the worst years of her life—her constant battles with illness and a series of devastating miscarriages, the damaging jealousy of her friend and her struggle to be taken seriously as a writer. But what shines through most is her strength in the face of adversity, her deep love for her husband, Tom, the solace she found in her art and her unmistakable character. Before I Go is an inspiring story of resilience and a must for any Cookson fan.

Catherine Cookson was one of the world’s most beloved writers. Her books have sold millions of copies, and her characters and their stories have captured the imaginations of readers around the globe. Now, available for the first time in this country, comes one of Cookson’s earliest and most stirring historical romances: “The Fifteen Streets.” John O’Brien lives in a world where surviving is a continual struggle. He works long hours at the docks to help support his parents’ large family. Many other families in the Fifteen Streets have already given up and descended into a dismal state of grinding poverty, but the O’Briens continue to strive for a world they are only rarely allowed to glimpse.

Then John O’Brien meets Mary Llewellyn, a beautiful young teacher who belongs to that other world. What begins as a casual conversation over tea quickly blossoms into a rare love that should have been perfect. Fate steps in, however, when John is accused of fathering the child of a local girl, and Mary’s parents forbid her to see him. The couple begins to realize that the gulf of the Fifteen Streets between them is a chasm they could never bridge-or might they still find a way?

In these pages Catherine Cookson displays the irresistible plotting, scene-setting, and characterization that have made her a recognized master of historical and romance fiction. Fans of her novels, with their larger themes of romantic love and class conflict, will be delighted to find that even at the beginning of her illustrious career, Cookson had the power to captivate audiences. Filled with passion and compelling drama, “The Fifteen Streets” is a rare treat for lovers of romantic fiction.

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

A beautiful 5++++ star read. How did I not read Me Before You sooner…This gorgeous story has completely stolen my heart.

I watched the film version before reading the book and, for all I absolutely loved the film, I knew I had to read the book. I knew I would love the book but, it was so much more than I expected. So many things that the film version missed out. I’m happy I didn’t miss out on them.

Brilliant characters that stole a place in my heart, and fabulous writing with ALL THE FEELS…The perfect read in my eyes. Thank you Jojo Moyes, my heart will never be the same.

Small Town Scandal by Daisy Prescott ~NEW REVIEW~

Another wingmen meets his match and this time it’s scandalous.

Carter Kelso is a man with a plan. And goats.
Ashley Kingston is a woman with a reputation.
Can he earn back her love before their past catches up with them and destroys everything?

On the island, my last name is synonymous with scandal. With a notorious father and a famous brother, I’ve been on the sidelines of our small town’s gossip circle for years. Nothing to see here. Just a man and his goats, happily going through life. Not a care in the world. Too bad it’s all lies.

I’m tired of trying not to be in love with Ashley Kingston, our very own island jezebel. Some people think she’s a slut. They think they know her. They’re wrong. Screw them.

Reputations can be deceiving. I should know.

Small Town Scandal is a second chance romance standalone novel and the fifth book in the Wingmen series. You do not have to read the other novels first.

Small Town Scandal (Wingmen, #5)Small Town Scandal by Daisy Prescott
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Who doesn’t love a scandalous love story, hmmm? Especially one set on a beautiful Island with a sexy goat herder! Small Town Scandal is the latest sweet release in Daisy Prescott’s Wingman series and it was fabulous.

When I’m looking to get lost in a romance, Daisy Prescott is definitely one of my go to authors. Small Town Scandal is exactly what I was looking for; a sweet, sexy read full of witty characters. Carter Kelso is the sexy and chivalrous goat herder, extremely swoon-worthy. Ashley Kingston is misunderstood-wrongly judged by so many but, she knows who she is. I absolutely adored her character!

Set on beautiful Whidbey Island, Small Town Scandal is a story of love lost and love found, of lasting friendships, and how small town secrets turn into scandal. The story is wonderfully written and my heart enjoyed every twist and turn.

If you’re looking for a page turner to lie by the beach with this summer, look now further, Small Town Scandal is just what you are looking for. One word of warning, don’t be surprised if this story has you craving a run to your local coffee stand 😉
