We are today’s stop on the FIGHTING TO FORGIVE Blog Tour! Check out my review. I absolutely LOVE this series.
by JB Salsbury
What do you do when everything you avoid, turns out to be exactly what you need?
Easy and predictable, just the way he likes it, Blake Daniels flies through life the way he burns through women: on his terms, no regrets.
With his fighting career in full swing, he’s on the threshold of title contention. But when his training is compromised by injury, the stakes grow impossibly higher. The rage that fuels his punches also chips away at his focus, and he risks losing everything he cares about.
He won’t let that happen. Not again.
Layla’s through with men. After a marriage that never should’ve happened, she hopes to reclaim the pieces of the woman she lost years ago.
Emotional abuse has left her insecure and terrified. A master at faking what she’s not feeling, she masks her self-doubt in false confidence.
She’ll never let another man hurt her. Not again.
Chased by shadows of the past, Blake and Layla know what they don’t want, but their hearts have a different plan. As a web of lies and betrayal threatens to destroy them, they’re forced to make a choice.
Is love enough to heal even the deepest wounds?
My rating: 5 of 5 stars
What do you get when you cross an alpha male, sexy as all get out MMA fighter with the awesomeness of JB Salsbury’s writing of said alpha male?– OMG and melted panties that’s what.
I fell in love with the first book Fighting For Flight but JB Salsbury just brought us to new heights with Fighting To Forgive. We were first introduced to Blake Daniels in book one. He was a saucy mouthed, no filter funny a** MMA fighter and best friend of Jonah Slade. If I thought I loved him in that book, his story in Fighting To Forgive owned my heart. He was all strong, stubborn and consuming with a side of sweetheart that took my breath away.
Much like Fighting For Flight, I absolutely love the drama/suspense element that Salsbury weaves into her stories. the criminal element makes it a page turner. And the bad guys– you just want to junk punch the jerks because they are such ugly, slime ball douches. Stewart made my skin crawl.
In both books Salsbury adds the element of family. And anyone that reads my reviews knows how much I love this aspect in a story. In FtF, the female mc Layla has a teenage daughter Axelle (Elle). Their side story is very real and emotional. And as a mom, I think you feel it more so.
JB Salsbury also added a very real and tough subject of domestic abuse to this instalment of the Fighting Series. She handled it with honesty and sincerity. How she wrote it into the story was more impactful than writing in graphic descriptions and scenes.
Because of the difficult subject matter, I appreciated the humour that Salsbury brought into the story. Blake’s lack of a filter and forwardness had me laughing out loud often. With some guys, it would come across as douchy, with Blake it oozes schmexy!!! I don’t know how JB Salsbury does it but she makes this giant, overbearing x with a really big Y guy by the name of Blake Daniels hotter than hot HOT!!!
If you’re taking Blake Daniels and Fighting to Forgive to bed with you, i suggest a change of panties and a towel. Maybe even extra batteries or have the hubs at the ready 😉
Love this series, love this book, love this author and cannot wait for more from her!!!! Get on it. D 5/5
