So the cover for this book is what initially got me to one-click this title. I’m a sucker for tatted up hotties. Then what got me was the main character’s name, Rule. Rule Archer—yep, say it with me schmexy name. The synopsis was good enough to make me curious enough to read it. I went into this without any expectations. I’m so glad I decided to read this one. The story was great. I loved it!!!!!!! Here’s the thing, the editing—well there was none. So when you read Rule, get past the editing or lack of it and involve yourself in the story. Because, it is really good. Better than really good. Better than, better than good. J You can’t help but fall for this tatted up bad boy, whose heart has been slammed by those who should love him the most. Now I know, there are some of you who are now saying- another tatted up bad boy. Here’s the thing, 1-there’s never enough bad boys. And 2- you haven’t been introduced to Rule Archer yet. He’s more than just tattoos and attitude. There is a story to him that hasn’t really been put out there before—there’s a slight twist to his story that you just want to make it better.
The female main character, Shaw has her own story that needs telling and revealing. Rule may be the one who is able to do just that. Author jay Crownover, does a great job of developing the characters stories with the dialogue between characters. There is background information and inner monologue of course, but I found her dialogue to be simple yet telling. I loved the secondary characters. Shaw’s best friend Ayden was feisty and fun. She wasn’t in your face pushy. Nor was she too compliant. I can’t wait to read more about her in the next book. Rule’s buddies are a bunch that you definitely want in your corner when times are tough. Not to mention that they’re hot as well. J There can never be too many hotties in one book.
Rule definitely needs to be on your TBR. I’m hoping that in the future, Jay Crownover will re-release an updated and edited version of Rule. So download this gem of a read. Look beyond the editing because honestly that’s the only thing make this book not as awesomesauce as it should be. The story itself is AMAZEBALLS!!! Jay Crownover is one heck of a writer. Be on the lookout for her. She’s about to rock the indie world. D 4/5
