Kylie Wolfe and guitarist Wyatt McRae have been bad for each other for the last several years, but it’s impossible for them to end their toxic push and pull. Not when their attraction is constantly fueled by lust and proximity—she’s her older brother’s Lucas’s assistant and Wyatt is his best friend and band mate.
So when Your Toxic Sequel makes a move to record a new album in Nashville, Kylie decides to make the latest break with Wyatt official by getting the hell out of town. She’ll spend a week in New Orleans. A week to immerse herself in the Mardi Gras scene. One week to not think about the last time she was in New Orleans, seven years ago with Wyatt. Seven days where she won’t have to see Wyatt every day just to fall ridiculously in love with him all over again—where, if she wants to, she can have a normal, no- strings attached fling that won’t end in heartbreak.
Too bad Wyatt ruins everything by showing up, as gorgeous and demanding and goddamn awful for her as ever.
Wyatt refuses to let Kylie give up on him. Not without reminding her why they both fell so far and hard in the first place. Not without making her savor the good memories and what could be their last chance with each other.
Note: This is a spinoff from the Devoured series.
“So, you’re Lucas-Fucking-Wolfe’s baby sister?” Terra slides into the seat meant for Heidi.
I give her a polite smile. “Unfortunately.”
“I met him once. In”—Terra darts her green eyes upward, trying to recall the exact location and then she lowers her gaze, grinning—“2010.”
“At your high school graduation party?” I mean to keep that to myself, but somehow it slips out. She’s obviously not offended because she throws her head back and laughs.
“Rock Fest. But I’m pretty sure I’m older than Lucas and Wyatt.”
She says Wyatt’s name the same way she had at the door—with that desperate hush of admiration mixed with desire. I glide my tongue side to side between my teeth. Plenty of women are attracted to Wyatt McCrae. There’s no reason whatsoever for me to have a negative reaction to this particular one just because she can appreciate a sexy, talented man.
Heidi’s hand reaches down over my shoulder, plunking a Corona with lime down in front of me. “Here you go, love.” I glance back at her just in time to see her give Terra a long look that’s one part curious and the other part aggressive. “Sorry, did you want me to grab you something, too?”
Sliding out of Heidi’s chair, Terra shakes her head. Her mane of blonde hair flies around her face like a slow motion shampoo commercial. “I’ve got”—she flicks her green eyes toward the stage—“band stuff to do, but I’ll catch up with you bitches later.” She winks again. Somehow, Heidi holds in her snort until she’s out of earshot.
“She’s cute.” Heidi takes a swig of her banana bread-flavored beer. I wrinkle my nose up at the bottle. “Bet she gets them a bunch of gigs.”
“Maybe.” I focus my gaze back to the stage. The band has changed songs, and now they’re playing a metal version of Heart’s Crazy On You that literally gives me the chills. It’s a feeling that very few bands have been able to bring out in me, and I’ve got a good feeling about Hazard Anthem’s future. “They could probably be managed by a fucking ogre and still hit it big.”
I sat down in the morning to start reading Savor You. It’s Emily Snow so I’m figuring I’m probably gonna like this book. Well, I got done with the prologue and I swear I was buzzing. Right from the first words, Emily Snow grabs you by the face and shoves Savor You into any and every tiny space of emotion sensing part of your body! And she keeps pumping it in full force like you are gasping to come up for air because it has so much intensity and rawness. I found that while I was reading, I felt my heart ache. Why because Kylie and the oh so damn gorgeous bassist for Your Toxic Sequel, Wyatt McCrae are so wrong for each other that they are absolutely perfect for each other.
“…even if that truthfulness aches like a fist to the heart.” ~ Kylie
We first met this feisty rock babe in Devoured. She is Lucas Wolfe’s assistant and little sister. This girl comes with baggage but she doesn’t try to leave with everyone in her life. She owns her mistakes and her life but what she doesn’t have control over is her feelings and love for Wyatt. No matter how toxic, how up and down they are. Whether she wants it that way or not, Wyatt and all his effed up ways own Kylie body, mind and soul.
“…you’ve got no fucking choice beautiful.” ~ Wyatt
Emily Snow created two characters that are so incredibly symbiotic. You can’t have one without the other. Kylie and Wyatt simply need each other and they thrive off one another even when they are angry and unsure of how to navigate their relationship. Neither is very good with sharing their feelings out from between the sheets, yet they know they cannot survive without the other being a significant presence in their life. For almost eight years they have played their little cat and mouse game. After a while the game gets old and it’s time to change the rules or stop playing all together.
“we’ve being doing this for so long… if we haven’t fixed ourselves by now, how the hell do you think we ever can?” ~ Kylie
Savor You is book #1 in the Savor Us Series. It is a spin off series from Devoured, Emily’s first novel. It’s a quick read as it is a shorter novel at 186 pages on Kindle. That being said it is a full read with lots of intensity, passion and force. Wyatt is as sexy as a book boy can get. His words will melt your panties and your heart. Kylie is a sassy girl who isn’t afraid to say it how it is. Her only weakness truly is Wyatt and even then she comes out fighting.
Emily Snow has a way of keeping her books classy but edgy. And most of all Savor You is HOT. She will assault your emotions and your senses into book sexy overload. Get this on your TBR D 5/5
