Struck Amazon

BLURB

Clay Maxwell is a smart, quick witted, sex-driven, manwhore with the good looks to match. Plenty of women have shared his bed, but only one has ever been constant, Andrea.

Their rules were simple. When they’re together, it’s just the two of them. When they’re apart, anything is fair game. And it worked. For ten years.

But one of them has changed the game…
Clay must decide if his player ways are worth losing the one girl who has always been there.

“Yet another awesome read from K.A. Linde! Clay is HOT and BAD in the best way possible, you won’t be able to put it down! I literally was begging for more!” -A.L. Jackson, NYT Bestselling Author

REVIEW

SFTR_Teaser4When Linde gave readers the first three books in this series, she swept me away into a world of politics, scandal, ambition and oh my heck Brady Maxwell. I fell in love with this character and his journey to the Whitehouse. I absolutely loved every word. She introduced us to Brady’s brother Clay, in book one. He was sexy, obnoxious, egotistical, and interrupted my love affair with Brady. But there was something about him, I couldn’t shake. Something that still made me like him.
Fast forward to book four STRUCK FROM THE RECORD… Clay’s book. Well, well, well. If he didn’t turn my Maxwell world upside down with his vulnerable, intense, lovable self. “For The Record,” he’s still obnoxious and sexy. And he still interrupted my love affair with Brady but not in a bad way. I had to make room for Clay Maxwell because this book boy hottie found a way into my heart permanently.
Linde has a way of weaving her words in and out of your mind and heart where you find yourself wondering what happened… I love that character and I love that story. There isn’t anything specific I can put my finger on as the trigger. She creates characters that are strong, independent, loyal and driven. It’s this that makes her characters sexy. She doesn’t write gratuitous, over the top sex scenes, she doesn’t go into long winded descriptions about a characters physical attributes. She doesn’t have to because she writes a story that draws you in and keeps you invested. She writes interactions and relationships between her characters that are intense and real.
Linde balances her stories with all the elements– humour, sexiness, drama, those aww moments and everything in between. You are never on the outside looking in, rather you are right there feeling every word as if they were your own.
STRUCK FROM THE RECORD was a fabulous read. i was able to make room for Clay Maxwell. This book is a perfect summer read or any season for that matter. The Maxwell family is the it family for book series. I can’t get enough of them.

PLATINUM (All That Glitters #3) by K.A. Linde ~ Review

True to K.A. Linde style, PLATINUM is filled with relationship drama, fashion, and good times. Love this series to slip away from the regular grind and enjoy a fun story. Check out my review.

Platinum by K.A. Linde
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Really enjoying this series. Trinhity’s (Trinh) story fits right in with the young college girls experiencing first loves, first heartbreaks, and finding out who they are that this series has been all about.
I love Trinh’s character in that although she is well-off and has had a privileged life, she wants to do things on her own merit and hard work. While vulnerable in ways of the heart, she is confident in her intelligence and what she has accomplished and can accomplish. She speaks up for herself but is humble and grounded. I love the trio of Trinh, Bryna and Stacia. It’s like the perfect balance.
Damon… DAMON! I love him. His character is one who has the potential to be a player, manwhore, jerk but he is the opposite without losing his swagger. He’s all bad-boy without being bad. I love his casualness yet he has intensity about him that is so attractive. He’s modern chivalry in jeans and a ball cap. He is crazy talented but isn’t arrogant about it and like Trinh is vulnerable with his heart. He doesn’t want just anyone to have it and they sure as heck better be deserving of it.
Trinh and Damon are a perfect coupling because they are so incredibly similar yet come across as opposites- and opposites do attract.
If you’re looking for a fun, sexy, fashion infused read then Platinum is right for you. I can’t wait for Silver (Stacia’s story).

EMERALDS by K.A. Linde~ Review

Touted as the queen of angst by many of her readers K.A. Linde is at it again with another instalment of the All That Glitters series. Emeralds (#2.5) Is Trihn’s story. If you’re a Linde fan this won’t disappoint. Check out my review.

Emeralds is now available on Amazon.

Emeralds by K.A. Linde
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

To love him and sex him or hate him and sex him? That is the question you will be asking yourself about Preston Whitehall. And I don’t know that you’ll have the answer by the time you’re done reading EMERALDS. But you will have oh so much fun navigating through it while reading about Trhinity and Preston. Classic to K.A. Linde stories, EMERALDS is full of angst, tugging of the heart strings, indecision, hotter than hot sex. I also love that girls in this instalment of the All That Glitters series are still strong and independent women.
What I love about Linde’s characters are how driven they are and ambitious they are. K.A. Linde never has to go into extreme physical details to give the reader a mental picture of how beautiful her characters are. They all have great charisma and personality that the images you have in your head are nothing less than sexy and hot.
I thoroughly enjoyed reading about Trinh after being introduced to her in Diamonds. Her back story (Emeralds) gives us more understanding of what she’s all about. Trinh’s story line is totally age and lifestyle realistic. It’s full of fun, sass and the unknown of the heart.
As always the boys in Linde’s books are drool and heart thumping worthy. Preston’s character is confident, smooth and charming. I wanted to love him and kick him within a single page. Damn him for having Jedi tricks.
I absolutely can’t wait for Platinum.

REVIEW

Gold (All that Glitters, #2)Gold by K.A. Linde

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

I am absolutely loving this series!!!!
GOLD book #2 in the series was a roller coaster ride of emotions. K.A. Line had my stomach in doing flip flops with wondering which way she was going to take the story. In true Linde fashion, she creates book boys that you are immediately drawn to regardless of which one you want the girl to end up with at the end of the book. Hugh and Eric are gorgeous and swoon worthy in their own right and their two personalities will have your heart in a ping pong match that just might have you throwing your Kindle across the room.
In this second instalment of the All That Glitters Series, we see Bryna really grow up and find her true self. I loved seeing the shift in her character. I loved her “royal B**ch” in Diamonds but loved the maturity and refinement of this trait in Gold. K/A. Linde also writes the perfect settings for her stories. I love the Vegas setting for Gold– all the glitz and glamour of the night life and a great college life during the day.
I know some might be frustrated with Bryna’s character but do remember she’s 18 and spoiled.
What I enjoyed most about this book was that it was fun. The content and storyline aren’t heavy and angsty. This is college kids having fun enjoying college life. It’s one big party with beautiful people, fashion, sex and good times. Gold is a great summer read. And K/A. Linde will remain one of my go to authors.

As she worked on the dessert, they talked about football and their undefeated season.

“I wished I were playing,” he admitted. “I’m still on the team, but it’s different, being on the sidelines.”

“But you said you could play.”

“I could,” he agreed. “But I wouldn’t do that to my parents. They were freaked out when I hurt my knee. At first, the doctors didn’t know if I would walk. It was not a good time in my life. I recovered remarkably well, but I don’t want to go back into something I’m good at if it could kill me. I’m still young and smart. I can do something else.”

“Coach? Is that the dream job?”

“Of course. That’s the goal even though so few people make it to the top. Coach thinks I have the right eye for it. That’s why he agreed to train me after I busted my knee,” he told her. “What about you? What’s the dream job?”

She shrugged. “I don’t know. I guess I always assumed I’d marry into money.”

“You’re not serious,” he said in disbelief. “You’re smart and in college. You have to have some dreams, right?”

She stuffed another bite of the banana split into her mouth to keep from answering right away. Her dreams had always been so muddled by everyone else’s expectations of her. She didn’t know how much of what she wanted was from herself or her parents.

“Sometimes, I think film,” she said. She had never said that out loud. “When I was younger, I used to watch clips and piece them together for my dad…when he was around.”

“Cool. So, are you a film major?”

“Um…no. I’m undecided. I don’t think my father would take me seriously if I told him I was in film even though he was in film here.”

“Why not?” Eric asked.

“I’ve never really shown interest in it. Plus, I don’t want to seem like I’m riding his coattails.”

“If you like it, you like it. You have to decide to do it and not give a fuck about what anyone else thinks. I thought you were already pretty good at that.”

Bryna crinkled her nose and shoved another bite of the banana split into her mouth. She was almost finished, but the more she sat around and talked with Eric, the more she thought it might be nice to hang out with him over break. She hadn’t envisioned this being a bet that she would want to lose, but if she didn’t finish the banana split he won…which meant she could hang out with him again. She had been bored out of her mind, and he was actually pretty good company—when he wasn’t acting like a douchey hostile football player.

She got down to her last bite and just stared at it. “Maybe I will change my major then and see how film suits me.”

“Killer. That sounds like a great idea. At least, once you’ve tried it, you’ll know if it’s for you.” Eric then looked at her bowl. “I can’t believe you only have one bite left. I never would have guessed you could finish that whole thing.”

She smiled and then pushed the bowl over to him with the one remaining bite in it. “I didn’t finish.”

“It’s only one bite.”

“I lost. This was fun. Let’s hang out again.”

Review

Diamonds (All that Glitters, #1)Diamonds by K.A. Linde

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Scandalous and delicious.
Oh to be a fly on the wall of KA Linde’s brain. She has this incredible knack for creating characters we both love and hate. This first instalment of the All That Glitters Series is no different.
Bryna, the 17yr old female main character annoyed the heck out of me with her spoiled rich kid ways. Which I’m more than sure was Linde’s intention. Bryna’s attitude and personality were characteristic of a teen girl who wants to have her cake and diamonds too 😉
As always, Linde’s book boys are absolutely dream worthy. Both Gates and Jude bring a heat to the story that keeps you turning the pages. Gates’ young, carefree way if fun, cheeky, arrogant and hot!!! Jude’s controlled, aloof way is alluring, intriguing and smoldering!!!!
I’ve got to mention Pace. This book boy drove me mad trying to figure out his angle. I really hope that Linde builds on his character. I can’t figure out if he’s a shifty douche or knows something we don’t. LOL
The story line is easy to follow and predictable but it keeps you captivated enough that you don’t want to put the book down. KA Linde dangles the proverbial carrot in front of you just enough to keep you chasing the plot.
I’m definitely looking forward to finding out where she takes the series.
Great new series.

Diamonds Teaser 3

Interview

Hey crew. We’ve got the lovely and ever entertaining queen of angst back with us for an interview. She’s created some new book boys for us to indulge our book escapes.

Welcome back K.A. Linde. Author of the USA Today best selling Avoiding Series, Record Series, and Take Me Series.

Her new series All That Glitters is sure to draw you in and intrigue you. Diamonds is book #1 and let me tell you… nah, you’ll just have to read for yourself!

Hey Kyla, thanks for coming. Let’s get right down to the nitty gritty.

F&D~How is this series different from all your other ones? How is it similar?

KAL~The world is one of total luxury, glitz, and glamour. The main character is a hard ass, no hold barred kind of chick who will take you on an unexpected journey where there are no limits. But you will see the similar trend of multiple hot guys vying for her attention in different ways and a whole lot of angst!

F&D~What makes these characters so charismatic? I mean Pace is F*n infuriating but I love him.

KAL~I think it’s just the way they’re written. There is no black and white for them. There are glimpses of good and bad in all of them. It’s realistic in that sense. You understand them and yet have no clue what they’re going to do or why they do it. A dichotomy in that aspect. I think you want to love all the guys and yet you still hate them. Bryna is that same way. You love to hate her and hate to love her.

F&D~Who was your favorite character in Diamonds?

KAL~Bryna by far! She’s an awesome kind of chick. She’s young so she has some growing to do, which we’ll see in the next book, but she also is so strong for her age. She takes charge and says whatever she wants. I wish I was a little more like her.

F&D~You seem to always leave us hanging with each installment of your series. What do you think it is that keeps us coming back for… that or we’re just gluttons for punishment?

KAL~Gluttons for punishment! No! LOL I actually think I don’t write cliffhangers. The story is always complete for that installment, but I leave you wanting more. You want to continue on the journey with the characters and find out what else happens to them. I construct them so that they don’t leave your head as soon as you finish the book. You keep thinking about what comes next.

F&D~What did you love most about writing Diamonds?

KAL~I loved the freedom! With Bryna there were no instances where she would say no. She was definitely a yes girl. Thus, I could write anything and it would fit the story. She’s adventurous if you know what I mean. 😉

F&D~When writing, what do you struggle with most as an author?

KAL~The first 20k words. You’re just getting to know your characters and they’re shaping themselves. You have to get to know them and who they are just like you would a friend before I really feel like they come to life.

F&D~So you write contemporary romance with angst and hotness. What genre would you like to step outside of your comfort zone and write? Is there a genre you will avoid at all costs?

KAL~Fantasy! It’s my one true love. I’ve actually written one, The Affiliate, that I hope will come out later this year. It’s a story much like my contemporaries about a girl who has to deal with falling in love and finding herself in this new world. It just happens to be that the world isn’t our own.

Um…I think I probably wouldn’t touch a lot of genres because I don’t read them or know anything about them. Thrillers, horror, nonfiction.

F&D~And totally non-book related… how are the wedding plans coming along?

KAL~Good! The wedding is right around the corner. A lot of little tiny things left to do, but trying not to stress!

Thank you so much for stopping by Kyla. I am so looking forward to Gold.

Crew this is definitely a series you’ll want to one click!!!

TAKE ME WITH YOU by K.A. Linde~ Review

22040289Take Me with You by K.A. Linde

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

There’s something about K.A. Linde’s writing and stories that just sucks me in and won’t let go. I love her characters and not just the book boys– although I’d be lying if I didn’t say they are hot!!!

TAKE ME WITH YOU the second and final instalment to this story had me on a roller coaster of emotions. Good thing I have my reader protected by very strong sturdy case. it might have hit a wall a few times. Grant and Ari are two characters who will infuriate you, leave you breathless and have you laughing out loud. Linde has an ability to make the chemistry between characters so incredibly dynamic that there is never a dull moment in the story.
What I love most in Linde’s books, is that the characters never waiver from who they truly are as people. They are strong, independent and ambitious but they are still vulnerable, have incredible heart and feel with everything they have. This makes for the perfect formula for a romance story. At least in my opinion.
What I loved about this story was the fact that it didn’t always focus on the ‘rock’ factor of Grant being a rock star but more his worth factor, especially in regards to his dad. I also loved the not too often ‘role reversal’ where Ari was the privileged female and more alpha than the male m/c. She often had Grant going out of his mind trying to figure out how to navigate the relationship.
I’m pretty sure there isn’t much of K.A. Linde’s writing that I won’t love. With every book, regardless if the story has been ‘done’ before, I feel like I get something new and refreshing from her stories. She balances the romance, the comedy and the angst perfectly to the point that I will think about her books constantly but not be in a hangover.

Take Me With You Teaser 1

Excerpt

Grant practically bounded across the room until he was directly in front of me. Then, his hands were cupping my cheeks so tenderly that it was as if he thought I might break in half. Without a word, his mouth dropped down on mine, and the kiss was as light as a feather. It was a question, a soft and delicate question, one he had never asked before—permission.

When I didn’t pull away from him, he received his answer. The kiss deepened, and he coaxed all the anger out of me. He drew it out as if sucking venom from an open wound. He kissed me so heatedly and lovingly that not even a drop remained. All that was left was a bottomless well of emotions of how much I loved and missed him.

When I came back into the moment, I heard the catcalls and yells from the people around us. It was then I remembered that we were in a crowded room, surrounded by people, and Grant had kissed the breath out of me. I flushed from head to toe at the attention, but he wouldn’t let me pull away.

“I’m sorry,” he whispered. “I shouldn’t have blown up on you. I shouldn’t have done anything. You’re all that matters.”

I stared up at him in confusion. “Who are you, and what have you done with Grant McDermott?”

He laughed that beautiful glorious laugh, and a smile lit up his whole face. It was that damn smile that had won me over in the first place.

“Run away with me,” he murmured.

“What?”

“Run away with me. Let’s get out of here.”

“Where are we going?”

“Anywhere. Everywhere.”
