~TORN FROM YOU by Nashoda Rose~ Review

Check out Naomi’s review of TORN FROM YOU by Nashoda Rose!

18068029Love is like an avalanche. It hits hard, fast and without mercy.

At least it did for me when Sculpt, the lead singer of the rock band Tear Asunder knocked me off my feet. Literally, because he’s also a fighter, illegally of course, and he taught me how to fight. He also taught me how to love and I fell hard for him. I mean the guy could do sweet, when he wasn’t doing bossy, and I like sweet.

Then it all shattered.

Kidnapped.
Starved.
Beaten.
I was alone and fighting to survive.
When I heard Sculpt’s voice, I thought he was there to save me.

I was wrong.

(It is highly recommended to read “With You” the novella first).

*Warning: This book contains some disturbing situations, strong language and sexual content. Over 18 years.

REVIEW:

This is a love story with some dark elements. Dark contemporary romance. No cliffhanger and next in the Tear Asunder series is Ream’s story (the band’s lead guitarist).

Where to start…… I have to start with the fact that I read the novella for this book ‘With You’ first and just knew from the first chapter in that I was going to be hooked, and ii was correct!!
When I first started reading and realised that this book involved sex trafficking/slavery I was a bit worried that it would be a bit samey to a series I had read last year that had rocked my world and found myself feeling disappointed.  I needn’t have been because in my opinion this book is totally different and has you hanging on every chapter wanting.. no.. needing to know what happened next.
This book introduces you to very different people but people who all in some way have had there own personal heart break.  The way that they have dealt with this is how they have become the people and characters that they are.  I fell in love with Sculpt in With You, because of this when I read the synopsis for Torn From You I was actually nervous about reading it.. I mean it says

‘Kidnapped.
Starved.
Beaten.
I was alone and fighting to survive.
When I heard Sculpt’s voice, I thought he was there to save me.

 I was wrong.’

I just didn’t know if I could cope with a story line that had someone I had loved in the novella being the bad guy… but I pulled on my big girl panties and started to read! Yep my heart got broken but then it was broken repeatedly and for things that you just would not have seen coming and it made you want to climb further and further into the book to make sure at some point something or someone would repair this broken heart.

I love Eme.. There are so many time we come across female leads that are weak and flakey when they have barely even been challenged with heartbreak.. Not Emily nope this girl may have been nicknamed Mouse buy Sculpt but seriously this girl truly has the heart of a Lion and at times I found myself praying that she could reign that in because as you will find out.. sometimes you have to roll with the punches.

I loved Nashoda Rose’ writing and I have to say she is so very good at writing a HOT love scene and I figured that out in With You I also discovered that she is very good at writing scenes that will make you feel uncomfortable but at a time that you SHOULD be feeling uncomfortable.

This book made me cry it made me swoon and at times it had me begging “no no no… Please no” and that to me always sums up a great read when you find yourself so engrossed that you talk to the author/book out loud(yep we may look crazy.. but when its because of a great book who cares)I even found myself smashing my fists on my desk shouting ‘NOOO’ because I was so angry with what was happening.. I LOVE THAT!!!

You will meet some other amazing people in this story and I CANNOT wait for there books to come out because if these 2 bokos are anything to go by then they will rock my/your world!!

This book is a definite 4.5 stars for me and I just want more.. more.. more..
