WASTED HEART by Nicole Reed stole my heart!!! Check out my review and enter the giveaway for a Kindle!!!
ROCK STAR? RECOVERING ADDICT? MURDERER?
Yeah, they all hold true.
How can you explain to someone what it’s like not to care? Not about yourself or the person standing next to you. I’ve lost that, the ability to feel and show affection.
I DO, HOWEVER, HAVE A HEART.
Sometimes, when I chase the dragon, it thunders through my head like a drum, reminding me it still beats.
It’s still there.
HOLLOW. EMPTY. WASTED.
My agent says I have one more shot. A single, solitary chance to stay in the music biz, but there is one massive problem.
HER. SYN LANDRY.
oh my heart loves Rhye!!! 5 stars
Nicole Reed—what you do to my heart with your words.
I always find it so difficult to write a review on a book and author that absolutely leave me wanting for more. Nicole Reed is one such author and Wasted Heart is one such book. If you love angst you will love this story. The angst in WASTED HEART won’t pull you under either. It’s just enough to make all kinds of emotions roll through your heart and mind.
Wasted Heart is a spin off from Ruining Me and Ruining You where Rhye Clark was introduced to us. Although not necessary to read these two books, I highly recommend them. They are phenomenal.
Rhye Clark is beyond broken and damaged. He bears a burden that consumes him in every moment. So much so that he has one chance and only one chance to break away from it. Everything including his heart rides on this chance. Never did he think a sweet country girl would fight for him or want his broken, wasted heart.
With each book Nicole Reed writes, her words bring more emotion, more angst, more life… just more. Her words are seemingly simple but somehow attach to your heart, causing the reader to become wholly invested in the story and the characters.
Rhye Clark is a rocker but this isn’t a rock boy story. This is a story about finding a way to forgive oneself. A story about not allowing the past to define one’s present or future. Life will throw so many tough things your way but that you can meet them head on with someone by your side to help you fight the things that could consume you and let your heart waste away. What I liked about Rhye’s character was he didn’t feel sorry for himself in a way that made him appear pitiful. He owned his heartache and he owned his choices. This is what made me become invested in Rhye and his journey to finding love.
Syn Landry’s character is sweet, sincere, loving and honest. But she is not naïve, she is not indecisive and she is definitely not a pushover. I loved her character because she was bold but empathetic. She did not pity Rhye. She supported him even from a distance.
Reed does a beautiful job of making the story more than that—you can picture it in your mind. You can feel it in your stomach and heart as butterflies race through. You can taste it in the tears that fall from your eyes. She manages to do this in only a few words or one sentence.
I don’t want to go into too much detail about the story. It’s one of those reads you need to feel for yourself. You need to let Nicole Reed’s words serenade you through Rhye’s POV. His words will break your heart, own your heart and steal your heart.
If you have not introduced yourself to the awesomeness that is Nicole Reed, WASTED HEART is the book to do it!!! Rhye Clark will not disappoint. D 5/5

I love angst….I thrive on it, but only the fictional kind. I adore a story that grips the reader from the beginning and doesn’t let go…EVER. I’m an avid reader who just recently discovered my love of writing. My favorite things in life include my three wild & crazy kids, Reese’s Pieces, and every genre of music. I reside in the Deep South.
Currently, I am writing a new adult/contemporary romance story that I can’t wait to share. I also plan to release Rhye’s story, Wasted Heart, in 2013.
